The Horticultural Assistant performs the following functions on a regular basis:
Complete assigned work including but not limited to: mowing, pruning, weed eating, shoveling, blowing, painting, and cleaning.
Operate various tools and equipment.
Move furniture, equipment or supplies as requested.
Follow proper ladder climbing procedures to elevated distances for completion of assigned work including but not limited to: hanging decorations, pruning painting, cleaning and addressing other maintenance issues.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Horticulture Supervisor or the Director of Facility Services.
The successful candidate will have some experience in Horticulture work and a valid North Carolina Driver's License with good driving record.
A high school diploma or GED preferred.
