The boyfriend of a very close female family friend (who I will call "J") does not want me in J's life, even though we have been friends for over 20 years (in her words, I am her Best Friend). He and J's former roommate (A woman named Mary) conspired together to harass me and even to goad me into assaulting the roommate by having her assault me. The reason for doing this was to force me out of J's life and to make me look violent, not just to J but to my entire neighborhood.
At the beginning of May, the roommate did assault me by charging at me, screaming at me to hit her, and spitting in my face in an attempt to goad me into attacking her in front of J.
Since then, someone contacted the SSA to claim I am faking the disability for which I receive SSDI, and my partner's car has been sabotaged. I realize these are circumstantial, but I feel they play a part in the larger pattern of behavior. Also, I and another witness saw someone near the car who looked a lot like the roomate's boyfriend.
I was told by a police officer that when the roommate was served with the complaint I filed to press assault charges, both she and the respondent tried to accuse me of assaulting the roommate. Fortunately, no action was taken. The police officer was not supposed to tell me that, so I would prefer to avoid naming names, if possible.
J sent me an email in which she threatened to cut off contact with me if I pressed charges against her roommate for the assault. J sent another email months later which included an accusation that I and witnesses were lying that I was assaulted, but, in the same email, she told me not to contact her again, so I couldn't answer, which caused me great emotional distress. According to J, she ended her relationship with the respondent in May 2024; however, I believe that the respondent wrote or provided the wording for these emails to J because some of the phrases she used were the same as those that several neighbors reported to property management (and to me after I was assulted). I also showed J's childhood friend the emails, and she said the word choice and grammar were not normal for her at all. The friend is willing to testify if needed. Property management is also willing to help in this matter.
I Want to add that there was no lead up to the no contact letter, I have evidence and photos showing that we were getting along wonderfully until a suddenly the letter was written. It is my families belief that "J" is being guilted and pressured into cutting off contact and the choice is not her's.
I first filed for a protective order in October. The respondent did not make an appearance until December. The hearing ended with a continuance because the respondent retained a lawyer, who was not able to be present. When I was leaving the courtroom, the respondent attempted to hold open the door for me. I have a severe autoimmune disease called ADEM, and he is completely unvaccinated. He is aware of my condition and the dangers any infections, even the common cold, pose to me. I could not pass the door without coming within 6 feet of him.
Since learning of his and the roommate's planned attack against me, and the harassment that began and continues even after J stated she wanted no more contact from me, I have every reason to believe he will continue this harassment both directly and indirectly until he is legally forced to stop. Because of the ADEM, I also have extensive heart and brain damage from a COVID infection in December 2023 that makes stress, especially prolonged stress, life-threatening.
I know it is unusual for a petitioner to retain a lawyer in a no contact case, but since the respondent has retained one, I feel that I will be outmatched if I don't have one, too.
To be clear, "J" has never filed anything against me and would have no reason to do so. We have been very close for 20 years. This is all a set up from a racist roomate and a jealous Want-a-be 'boyfriend' that she tried to cut off in may of 2024.
