Zink, Whitsett, NC, has an immediate opening for an Industrial Electrical Technician to join our team.
We are seeking a skilled tech who installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in manufacturing plants and buildings, including wiring, fixtures, and equipment, by diagnosing faults, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and building regulations, while utilizing technical expertise and problem-solving skills to maintain optimal electrical functionality.
The successful candidate will contribute to supporting manufacturing, performance excellence, production engineering projects, and maintenance of site-wide electrical systems. This position will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and improvement of process control and electrical equipment in production areas, including the chemical plant, coating plant, and finishing plant. This position is expected to support projects and day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working on electrical installations across various voltages i.e., conduits, panels, disconnects, pipe threaders, benders etc., reading schematics, and understanding usage of proper tools and meters.
Repair and replace wiring.
Working with Motor Controls, DCS, PLC, and inspection systems along with associated IT equipment.
Basic computer skills.
Follow instructions and guidance.
Daily production support.
Understanding of technical documents and drawings.
Document repairs and modifications.
Install and maintain indoor and outdoor electrical control, wiring and lighting systems.
Stay apprised of revisions to National Electric Code (NEC) and other relevant legislation, building and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have:
3-5 years of relevant experience.
Good working knowledge of:
o MCC.
o Electrical Drives.
o Electrical & Control Cabinets.
o Wiring & Installation.
Chemical batch processing or web transportation experience is desired.
Familiarity with NEC, Substation exposure, Boiler systems, Water systems are good to have.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is desired.
An attitude of working in a dynamic environment.
We offer a great schedule, Monday - Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm. If you are hired for this position, you will be off on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
