Must Haves:
Coming from a machining background
Experience working with G code programs (GIBBS) & (ESPRIT CAM) are what the team uses.
3-5 years of experience as a CNC programmer
High school or equivalent
Strong math skills
Computer software
Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints
Mechanical aptitude helpful
Strong attention to detail
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they occur
Ability to work independently and closely follow direction is essential
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical school certification
Any certifications in the machining world
Day-To-Day:
Writes complete G code programs (GIBBS) & (ESPRIT CAM)
Works on multiple levels, change between and create new Work Coordinate Views and draw and write tool paths
Read and write G-Code & M-Code
Required to check posted programs for errors and performance
Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
Determine reference points, machine cutting paths, or hole locations, and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures.
Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications.
Write programs in the language of a machine’s controller and store programs.
Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency.
Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.
