Plan and implement procurement of finished goods and raw materials from domestic and international suppliers; Ensuring that raw material and packaging components are available on time to support requirements through purchase order creation, management and escalation (when needed)

Ensure that manufacturing process is balanced to guarantee resources usage optimization.

Enter and maintain purchase orders in the system with valid due dates.

Coordinate the materials new products activities and/ or projects.

Monitor schedule to assure materials are procured within Lead Times established in the ERP system.

Work closely with Quality Control to ensure release in order to maintain production schedule

Participate in the decision making process regarding schedule changes by communicating current inventory levels and anticipated receipts.

Implement and coordinate standard processes of inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials, other manufacturing components. Manage inventory levels to avoid any obsolescence and report slow moving items to the Planning Manager.

Establish processes and leverage systems to efficiently plan & procure in a growth oriented environment.

Communicate any rejection of any WIP or Finished good for immediate disposition.

Analyze MRP action messages to ensure raw materials and packaging components are available in the right time and quantities to support production plan.

Coordinate deliveries schedules of blanket orders with vendors (define dates and quantities) and any changes in delivery requirements or confirmations.

Delineate appropriate inventory strategies to manage adequate inventory levels. Monitor expired, obsolete and rejected material to avoid impact to the operations area.

Anticipate and communicate any material shortages immediately.

Manage material conversions to minimize obsolescence, reduce impact to customer service and align with regulatory requirements.

Provide timely input in various meetings. (Product Transfer, Raw Materials, Encaps, Tech Transfer, new projects, etc.)

Enter and update purchase order into the planning system to align with customer negotiated needs.

Develop a priority schedule for the receiving area to optimize space utilization within the warehouse.

Establish and maintain rapport with all levels of supplier personnel and internal customers

Periodic review and validation of item master data information such as lead times, scrap factor, lot size order quantities, safety stocks, yields.

Aware of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process at all times. Secure all purchases within the plan, including Tech Transfer and Development support.

Supervise MRP and communicate any issues immediately to Master Scheduler.

Follow up with suppliers on required documentation (i.e.: CofA, CofC, purchase specs, etc).

Provide and maintain forecast to the supply base.

Backs up some Planning Manager functions.

Supports Site and Corporate Procurement team when needed.

Periodic update of procedures related to production and materials planning process.

Participate in the business plan process.

Review and communicate any routing changes and standard hours that will impact the capacity information.

Provide information to our customers when required.

Support Supply Chain Manager in any other special task or activities.

Challenge processes to improve cost-effectiveness of material flow to the production areas.

Provide materials projection for strategic planning and development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Management, Material Management, or Supply Chain Management preferred.

Preferable but not required, Certified Production and Inventory Control Management (CPIM).

Experience

5+ years experience in a related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.

Experience in SAP Material Planning.

Proficiency in communication and presentation skills.

Written and verbal English language.

Proficiency on the use of computer software such as Excel, word, Power Point, etc.

Knowledge in problem solving techniques.

Excellent communication skills.

Good analytical skills.

Good negotiation skills.

Ability to work as a team.
