Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with terrific organizational skills to take up a long-term contract / temporary position at a growing company in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
General Ledger System experience required
Budget forecasting experience
Deep understanding of SAP
SAP HANA experience preferred
General familiarity with Financial Statement Audits
Practical knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements
Well-founded grasp of financial statement preparation
Proven knowledge of Financial Statement
Solid understanding of general ledger
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in ERP systems
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
