JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Assembler is responsible for putting together component parts or pieces adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. They verify the correct quantities of components parts and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures. Adheres, implements, and ensures that all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements are followed in the assembly area and throughout facility - Punctuality and reliable attendance are a must for this position. Required PPE must be used while on the production floor.
Assembler will be cross trained within the department and throughout other positions in the plant according to business needs.
Safely use cart to transport components from shelves to workstation as needed.
Housing needs to be placed and safely locked into position needed on bucks/cradle.
Follow appropriate work instructions for the type of unit being built.
Check blueprint for components needed to build unit and torque specifications.
If there are any deviations to unit engineer must sign off and date on work instructions.
Appropriate tools located in your workstation must be used to build unit.
Assembler is responsible for ensuring that all tooling located in workstation is up to date on calibration and that all tools are functioning properly and not damaged.
Assembler is responsible to immediately report any tooling that is in need of calibration or that needs replacement to the department supervisor.
All units need to be color marked on torqued areas with designated color marker issued to assembler.
Record and initial the daily log serial number, shims and rolling torques that are used to build units, check runout on coupler.
Safely remove unit build from bucks/cradle.
Use overhead hoist located in your workstation to transport built unit to the cart for test stand.
Assist in other areas of the department as needed.
All scrap must be written and recorded at the end of shift and put on scrap/MRB table with scrap ticket.
Keep clean and well- maintained workspace throughout the shift.
Report any injuries to supervisor immediately.
Workstation must be restock and cleaned at end of shift.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
