These innovative solutions support drug discovery, proteomics, environment and industrial testing, and many other applications that improve human health and advance scientific breakthroughs. With the support of two team members, this role also leads the communications strategy for Thermo Fisher’s Instrument and Enterprise Services business, which provides service, support and enterprise solutions to thousands of customers around the world.As a skilled communications leader, you will work as a strategic advisor for senior executives, crafting compelling narratives for a multi-billion-dollar global business.Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, Analytical Instruments, and joining the global communications extended leadership team, you will bring your passion for and leadership in communications, change, creative storytelling and content development to reach global audiences using appropriate channels.Responsibilities

Develop global communications strategies aligned to key business and employee focus areas to increase awareness and drive employee engagement.

Build compelling narratives that make an impact.

Explore new ways to deliver communications creatively, efficiently and practically by challenging current processes and recommending new ways of working.

Work with PR and creative agencies and support issues management as needed.

Serve as a key communications leader and advisor on business priorities, crisis situations and large-scale initiatives.

Critical involvement in sourcing and developing inspirational content using a variety of channels

Operate as an agile people leader guiding priorities, development and performance.

Provide strategic partnership on large-scale change communication initiatives, including developing business level messages, talking points, FAQs and other materials to support change.

Experience and Qualifications Required

10+ years of extensive experience in corporate communications, internal communications or corporate public relations.

Experience operating as a trusted advisor to leaders, able to flex to match diverse work styles.

Comfortable developing and handling relationships with media members, partners and other external parties.

Role-model leadership for junior members and peers within the function.

A strong writer, editor and communicator with the ability to build channel-specific content.

Strong verbal communicator with excellent interpersonal and listening skills.

Business knowledge and intellectual curiosity to learn about business strategies, competitive landscape and scientific technologies.

Passionate storyteller with experience translating technical topics into easy-to-understand and impactful content.

Open to feedback, flexibility and continuous improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications from an accredited institution or commensurate experience.

Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.

Ensure all new US government business has proper billing/invoicing procedures in place to ensure accuracy and avoid risk. Capable of training Expeditors offices in proper US government invoicing procedures. Generates weekly reports. Including invoice audit results, disputed invoices, accounts receivable/aging reports for customers. Works with payees to ensure invoices are paid timely. Communicates status updates with internal stakeholders. This includes publishing weekly accounting reports in SharePoint, as well as leading meetings to communicate to specific offices/departments. Works to improve the freight payment cycle time for all branches with US government related business. Must be a United States Citizen and be able to work at a US Expeditors branch. Experience with accounts payable/receivable. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrates proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. US Military service and/or US Government employment experience preferred. Fluent in English.
