job detailsjob summary:A Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. This position involves supporting capacity additions and mechanical installations in a manufacturing environment by leading engineering projects, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes.location: Newton, North Carolinajob type: Contractsalary: $20.71 - 25.00 per hourwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Associatesresponsibilities:
Maintain safe work practices and inform others of hazards.
Design and implement mechanical solutions and process changes to enhance manufacturing capability.
Manage activities to meet project milestones and timelines.
Solve mechanical and process issues through data analysis and collaboration with experts.
Manage spare part identification and storeroom entries based on supplier recommendations.
Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
Support training for the operations workforce regarding equipment changes.
Skills:
Quick learner of new technologies and processes.
strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering.
Ability to multitask and prioritize independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
strong communication skills.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree required.
2+ years in new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with project expansions and startup experiences.
Familiarity with fast-paced, changing environments with multiple priorities.
