Concrete Laborers

A concrete laborer, also known as a concrete form laborer, builds structures using concrete. Their responsibilities include:

- Design and building forms

- Concrete laborers design and build forms for building foundations.

- Pouring concrete

- Concrete laborers pour concrete for sidewalks, driveways, basements, patios, and more.

- They also pour and level concrete according to project specifications.

- Spreading and smoothing concrete

- Concrete laborers spread and smooth concrete to ensure a durable finish. They may also apply stains and gloss dried concrete to meet design plans.

- Operating concrete mixing machines

- Concrete laborers operate concrete mixing machines and ensure that all measurements are accurate.

- Setting expansion joints

- Concrete laborers set expansion joints in cement to prevent cracks caused by temperature changes.

- Maintaining safety standards

- Concrete laborers follow and maintain safety standards set by state and federal regulations.

Other responsibilities of a concrete laborer may include:

- Assisting in the construction of sidewalks, driveways, and floor slabs

- Rubbing and patching columns

- Troweling, rebar, and pouring and finishing concrete slabs and floors

- Setting braces to support form work

- Erecting scaffolding

- Cleaning up rubble and debris

- Tearing out concrete

This job will be entirely on Cherry Point and will require badging. You must have a valid driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, car insurance and registration to receive the proper badging to work. Non-citizens will also need a passport and residence card along with any other ID documents available including the ones listed above.
