For me, that’s a big breath of fresh air."- Sunrise LeaderThe Area Business Coordinator is responsible for the Payroll, Billing, and General business administration for 5 - 6 senior living communities operating within a regional cluster. The Area Business Coordinator will spend sufficient time in all supported communities.RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONSResponsibilities:As a part of the Sunrise team, supporting our Mission, Principles of Service and Core Values is a fundamental part of this job. Billing and Accounting:

Follow monthly accounting calendar and scheduled billing and payables tasks to ensure all financial data expectations and deadlines are met.

Perform timely processing of resident data within the PCC billing system to include status changes, move-ins, move-outs, and rate changes. Ensures billing transactions entered are authorized and processed accurately; works collaboratively with the care departments to ensure resident care and billing information is in sync and timely. Resolves billed vs. assessed data discrepancies.

Manage customer billing inquires, ancillary charges and rate changes.

Follow company procedures to collect and review information needed to assist in billing and accounting support services to meet business performance goals, deadlines, and reporting.

Manage invoice processing, new vendor setups, and expense reports.

Monitor department spending to budget and manage through KPIs to improve performance outcomes.

Maintain the billing system and manage the monthly resident statement and financial close process.

Monitor the AR Aging and manage collection efforts on delinquent accounts.

Manage Medicaid billing and eligibility where applicable.

Manage customer annual rate increases working collaboratively with Operations and Billing support teams.

Understand and utilize financial data and company tools to accurately reflect business transactions and performance.

Ensure business controls are in place and functioning as expected in accordance with company policy (Monthly Key Controls Checklist).

Maintain and organize audit materials and information for audit review.

Quality Assurance and Safety:

Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Lockout Tagout.

Partner with community team to ensure community follows Risk management programs and policies and adheres to safety rules and regulations.

Lead all financial system and accounting policy training for front-line staff. An active participant and presenter at monthly Town Hall staff meetings with a focus on continued education targeting key business process workflows, policies, and systems.

Assist in the presentation and value of Sunrise’s products and services for our residents, families, team members and targeted referral sources.

Ensure all community business process controls (MKCC) are in place and functioning as intended. Perform monthly audits of business controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and authorization of data input.

Assist the community Executive Director with monthly financial performance reviews, variance reporting, annual operating budget preparation and regulatory compliance reporting.

Maintain community books and records in accordance with Sunrise document retention policies and regulatory requirements.

Training, Leadership and Team Member Development:

Ensure daily review of timekeeping exceptions and take corrective action as required to maintain compliance with company policies governing time and attendance.

Attend regular meetings; Stand Up, Cross Over, Department Head, Town Hall, Quality Improvement, and others as directed by the Executive Director.

Keep abreast of professional developments in the field by reading and attending conferences and training sessions.

Maintain compliance in assigned required training as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.

The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in business administration or related field.

2+ years’ relevant experience in accounting and financial analysis, preferably in healthcare/Senior housing industry.

Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within established timelines.

Supervisory and management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management, discipline, and counseling.

Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Strong English written and oral communications skills.

Proficient analytical skills.

Strong Attention to detail.

High personal standards for integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
