Job Description National Power is currently accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Accounts Payable Manager. This position supports the Accounting Manager by preparing vendor payments, onboarding vendors and completing various General Ledger account reconciliations and also supports the AP Staff as needed. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCore duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform vendor setups including obtaining all necessary vendor information and entering the vendor into the ERP.
Maintain Certificates of Insurance on file.
Prepare all vendor payments via check, wire or ACH.
Upload Positive Pay file to the bank after each check run.
Maintain and monitor outstanding checks
Void and reissue checks as needed
Record manual payments as needed
Perform bank reconciliations monthly for all bank accounts.
Prepare journal entry to record AP Accruals monthly.
Perform AP Accrual reconciliation monthly.
Credit card administration to replace cards that are lost/stolen/damaged, raising credit limits and closing accounts for terminated employees promptly.
Process and prepare Certify report once per month for employee reimbursements.
Certify administration to set up new employees with an account, provide support to employees as needed with Certify issues or questions.
Provide Certify training to new employees once per month.
Communicate with vendors by phone and email as needed.
Communicate effectively within the Company to help resolve vendor payment issues.
Assist AP staff by checking monthly statements.
Assist with monitoring AP Inquiry email box for vendor inquiries and responding with payment information as needed or obtaining invoice copies for the AP staff.
Assist with yearly accounting audits by gathering data as requested.
Assist with physical inventory several times per year.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills
High School Diploma required
At least 5 years experience in Accounts Payable (required)
1 year of experience with Account Reconciliations and Journal Entries
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other ERP systems (preferred)
Fluency in written and spoken English
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
Must be a team player and maintain a good attitude
