Job DescriptionSupports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment.Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is needed. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May provide guidance to other support members. Applies technical aspects of the job to complete tasks. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.Basic Qualifications

At least 4 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:

At least 1 year customer service, call center, hospitality and/or technical support work experience

At least 3 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:

Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience

Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) - AAMI Credentials Institute (ACI)

ResponsibilitiesAs a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to medical equipment users and managing medical equipment maintenance, calibration, and service onsite at University of Missouri Hospital. You will provide technical support to medical equipment users and troubleshoot to determine the cause of the problem and record results, identify changes in test methods or equipment as needed for medical equipment testing. As a member of this team, you will take routine sensitivity, selectivity, and accurate measurements of medical equipment, maintain and calibrate medical equipment to industry standards, and perform preventative maintenance on assigned medical equipment. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
