Junior Solutions Test Engineer - Raleigh, NCDescription:Position involves creating and executing automated and manual testing for firmware of microcontrollers for utility meters & communication devices used in residential, commercial, and industrial metering applications to a headend. Responsibilities include creating formal test plans based on requirements and design specifications, developing test scripts, executing regression, and investigating & recording the results. This may include new test script development as well as support, maintenance or enhancement of existing test scripts.
Contribute to the development of project goals and schedules.
Analyze technical requirements
Independently write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts.
Report test progress according to established release schedules
Proactively identify obstacles that can impact schedule.
Analyze test result and report defects in a bug tracking system and track until resolution
Work with developers to debug test failures
Implement new techniques to improve automation tests
Additional Skills & Qualifications:Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
Experience with Object Oriented programing
Preferred - Python
Preferred - Experience with Embedded Systems ( testing or developing )
Preferred – Electrical Metering Experience
Preferred – Network Communication
Preferred – PC troubleshooting / maintenance experience
