Develop enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features. Use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications. Provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Determine specifications, then plan, design, and develop the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes-either individually or in concert with project team. Provide architectural strategy and direction for multiple diverse application functions on a variety of multi-platform systems in order to support the achievement of corporate business objectives.Do you thrive on designing and maintaining complex enterprise applications? If so, then this Mainframe Application Architect role is for you!We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Master Data Management Application Architect. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our core mainframe applications. You will have the opportunity to leverage your deep technical expertise to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that keep our business operations running at peak efficiency.Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, and related technologies.

Analyze and optimize application performance through performance tuning, load testing, and capacity planning.

Identify and lead efforts to apply mainframe modernization techniques to align with today’s technology landscape

Implement change data capture and data replication solutions to move data seamlessly between the mainframe and distributed systems using Ab Initio, Informatica, CDC, QREP, AWS, etc.

Develop and maintain JCL scripts for job scheduling and execution.

Manage and maintain CICS transactions, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

Utilize tools like Omegamon, query monitor, visual explain, virtual tuner, etc., for performance monitoring, tuning, and diagnosis.

Manage VSAM and IAM datasets for efficient data storage and retrieval.

Stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies in the mainframe and mainframe modernization space.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders.

Educate and mentor technical leads on solution design, implementation approaches and best practices.

· Document and maintain accurate technical documentation.Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a Mainframe Application Architect or similar role.

In-depth knowledge of IBM z/OS systems and subsystems.

Expert-level proficiency in COBOL, DB2, and SQL.

Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in development or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.

Understanding of multiple disciplines/processes related to the position.

Experience applying and utilizing enterprise architecture standards.

Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.

Ability to plan and manage projects.

Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.

Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

Advanced communications skills, including ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.

In an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile development and release practices. Experience supporting a team with application architecture in an Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowledge of one or more of technologies such as: JEE, JAVA Beans, JavaScript, Web Services, SOAP Mobile, WebSphere technologies, Microsoft Technologies such as NET (e.g., VB .Net, C#, or C, ASP.Net), or COBOL/Mainframe legacy EIS Job Inventory 15 modernization tools and integration techniques including COBOL, WSED, CICS, Assembler, and JCL, XML. Database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and proficiency in PL/SQL.

Solid working knowledge of UML and design tools.

Banking or financial services experience.

In an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile development & release practices. Experience supporting a team with solutions architecture in an agile environment.
