RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is looking for a remote Mid-Level UX Researcher to join their team based out of Raleigh, NC. In this role, the UX Researcher plays a supporting role in understanding user behaviors, needs and motivations.
Responsibilities:
Customer (or User) Focus:
UX Researcher participates in customer discovery activities with the product team and gives input for solutions
Aware of customer needs through direct or indirect observation
Leverages research documentation
Regularly reads competitive announcements and keeps up-to-date with market trends
Creative Problem Solving:
Asks the right questions to explore the problem
Works with designers to iterate and test solutions
Under the guidance of others, the UX Researcher identifies different UX research solutions
Collaboratively analyses the results of research to recommend solutions
Product Design:
Under the guidance of seniors, follows a User-Centered research process
Practices and learns research techniques
The UX Researcher works with UX Designer to define structure and layout of the product
Works with Visual Designer to define the visual identity of products
Creates research documentation
Data Driven Analysis & Testing:
With support of team, uses data to establish key metrics for projects
Regularly tests design work with users in partnership with UX Design team
Iterates research methods based on testing and data analysis
The UX Researcher explores data from analytics packages, customer insight or other sources to understand context of UX research work
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a design subject (Psychology, UX, HCI, Product Design, Design, Graphic Design, etc. discipline) is preferred, but not required
3-5 years of experience required
Technical Skills:
Uses research software (e.g. Qualtics, Lookback, Usertesting.com) to basic level
Has a basic knowledge of statistics to communicate the significance of research outcomes
Attends training in technical skills
Thinks carefully about which tools to use for each task
Is curious and keen to learn and develop new ideas, skills and knowledge
Acts on feedback to improve themselves
Looks for developmental opportunities in day-to-day work
Invests time and energy in self-development (professional qualifications, relevant reading, networking meetings, etc.)
Is able to understand, analyze and resolve core issues within own role
Works with others on solving complex problems and issues
Brainstorms with others to look for different approaches to current process and tasks
Looks for opportunities to develop new ideas or thinking within own role
Experiments with new ideas as part of role
