They've partnered with an esteemed organization in the Service industry to find an experienced Staff Accountant for their team. The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Raleigh, North Carolina based firm has a short-term contract position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.Your responsibilities
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Requirements - Strong attention to detail
ERP system experience
Bank reconciliations experience desired
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Recent and relevant accounting experience
