As a trusted partner, Converge Technology Solutions is helping our client identify, screen and secure a full-time

UX Designer to join our client in Raleigh, NC either on a

Permanent or

Contract to Hire basis. The position will be a hybrid working remote with onsite work two days a week initially, so local to Raleigh is required.

In this role, you will be key in building UX/UI, Design Thinking and User-Centered Design as a core competency and standard practice for the company's software product development operations. You will lead the effort to make their products as appealing, usable, and useful to their customers as possible.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Serve as an advocate and champion for a customer-centric, research-based, and design-infused culture to stakeholders who may lack experience in working with design as a strategic partner

  • Engage with and guide internal and external stakeholders through the design process, helping them understand and apply user-centered design methods to build valuable products and services

  • Drive efforts to grow and mature our practices, tools, and culture and the communication and adoption of the resulting design/UX guidelines

  • Conduct design thinking activities to define and drive the strategy and vision for major product areas

  • Apply a data driven approach to all design activities to inform design/UX optimization efforts

  • Perform discovery research to understand user needs, behaviors, and expectations

  • Facilitate immersion and ideation sessions with internal and external stakeholders to develop a shared vision of the end product

  • Translate business and user requirements into meaningful interactive experiences

  • Brainstorm, sketch, wireframe, and prototype with our internal and external stakeholders

  • Prototype and scale UX solutions for new products, services, features, and enhancements from journey maps through detailed designs

  • Run usability testing and gather feedback to inform designs and validate assumptions efficiently


Experience Requested:


  • Undergraduate degree and/or five years equivalent combination of experience and education in a creative or technical field

  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise solving complex UX problems and designing thoughtfully crafted web and mobile experiences on large-scale projects

  • Experience with user-centered design methodologies

  • Proven fluency in standard methodologies for web information architecture and responsive design, as well as deep and broad knowledge of usability principles and techniques

  • Ability to craft prototypes that can be translated into HTML, JavaScript, CSS and related technologies

  • Ability to resolve disparate user and business needs, to drive clarity and alignment across stakeholders

  • Experience with Design Thinking and Agile methodologies

  • Highly proficient in the use of design and prototyping software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, etc.)

  • Knowledgeable about web and mobile UX best practices

  • Understanding of HTML/CSS and emerging tools, technologies, and business practices
