Who We Are: We are Monuts, a high-volume, 99% from scratch restaurant located on Ninth Street in Durham. We have been in business for 8 years and are open 7 days a week serving breakfast, lunch, baked goods and coffee.What We Need: We are currently hiring an experienced line cook to join our team. We make everything from scratch, and will give preference to applicants who are equally skilled at prep as they are at holding down the the line through a busy brunch service. We can teach you just about anything you need to know to be a great cook, but you need to have a good attitude, be professional and actually want to be here to succeed in our kitchen.Training: All new-hires will complete a fully paid, 3-month probationary term during which time they will be fully trained on all stations in the kitchen. During this time they will receive regular feedback designed toward building skills and familiarity with how our kitchen operates. It is our our hope that at the end of 3 months, all new hires feel confident and well-trained and are excited to move out of the probationary period into a long-term regular position on our staff!Why You Should Work Here: We pay a living wage (at least $15/hr) and offer 2 weeks paid time off, $150/month toward health insurance expenses, matching contributions to your SIMPLE-IRA retirement account and free staff meals to all full-time staff members. We promote from within the company and offer all hourly staff members an annual performance bonuses. Schedule: We're very busy on the weekends and therefore weekend availability is absolute must. We can accommodate opening (6am-2pm) or closing (9am-5:30am) schedules, but appreciate some flexibility in overall scheduling to ensure full coverage during other staff-members time-off.
