Our goal is to create a sensory experience for our guests.

Beautiful plating, food that tastes amazing, a killer atmosphere, music, lighting, artworkAnd! Great Wine!
Everyone is welcome at KQ, wine & small bites are the medium through which we connect with each other and our community - and now we are looking for someone to bring the same passion we have for wine to our Food Program.
The wines we offer come from all over the world, as do the ingredients for our small plate kitchen offerings!
Our Kitchen is an opportunity to work like those in big city small kitchens Wow guests with what comes out of our little galley.
Collaboration with our Wine Sommeliers & our Cheesemonger will be a fun opportunity to create a magical menu that pairs with our wine.
This role creates a walk around the globe, where you can learn regions quickly through having nearly fifty by the glass and by the bottle wines to taste and pair food with.
Durham is a small community which enables us to really make an impact; through building relationships with wine makers, brand ambassadors, and distribution partners, we have found that the networking opportunities are endless.

-Hands on Experience in a Restaurant or … a passion to learn and take on responsibility.
-Serve Safe Certified is a bonus or we will send ya to class Certification would affect pay scale & role.
-Able and willing to work weekends.
-Hospitality experience focused on guest and community care
-Ability to utilize ingredients to avoid waste and read what guests are enjoying.
-Open to collaboration with management and teammates
-Great at multitasking.
- Computer skills to look at reports, place orders.
-Potential for a 30-40 hour week, steady schedule
- You have Super lovely vibes
- Able to run errands to Farmers Markets and Industry stores to procure ingredients that can not be ordered from Distribution.
-Food cost witht team to price dishes.

Position Responsibilities Include:
Staying apprised of new wine offerings
Awareness of inventory and ability/awareness to to watch par levels.
Understanding how to update POS system
Restocking and keeping refrigeration clean and organized.
Accept deliveries from distributors
Collaborate with ownership and current Wine Director/ Cheesemonger on the menu…
Communicate feedback from guests to staff and management
Join tastings with wine managers & reps
Look for deals on great ingredients.
Ensure ingredients open are served, and stored properly
Educate staff on new dishes / food pairing
Create original content for Instagram about new offerings
Monitor what is selling via running reports and watching what comes back to the kitchen on eaten plates
Update shift notes at the end of the night
Compensation:
Varies based on experience, performance, the role responsibilities
Minimum:
$18/hr-$20hr + Tip Pool
Maximum:
Potential to increase compensation and responsibilities.
