Atomic Clock Brewing Co opened its first taproom & kitchen in Durham in 2024. The taproom is in a completely renovated historic building that aims to provide an elevated guest experience with a robust beer and beverage program complimented by an exciting, from-scratch menu that goes beyond typical taproom food.
We are looking for a passionate and professional line cooks to add to and help execute Chef's vision in the pursuit of culinary and hospitality excellence.
Our menu will consist of some bar favorites, small plates, and full entrees in a style delivered with the approachability of bar dining and the execution of fine dining with culinary influences pulled from the lives of the founders and chef, including, but not limited to American, Puerto Rican, and Italian cultures.
Line Cook Responsibilities:
- Set up and stock food items and other necessary supplies onto your station
- Prep all station mise en place including, but not limited to: chopping, cutting, slicing veg and/or proteins
- Mixing and preparing sauces as necessary
- Cook food items in various methods including grilling, frying, sautéing, etc. up to restaurant standards
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace that complies with all food sanitation requirements
- Properly handle and stores all cooked and raw food items according to food sanitation requirements
- Clean and sanitize all cooking surfaces and station at the end of the night
- Fill out a nightly prep sheet and assist Chef in inventory logs, as needed
Work Hours & Schedule
- 35-40 hrs/week
- Weekday shift
- Weekends as needed
- Morning shift as needed
- Nightshift required
- 8 to 10 hr shifts with break
Line Cook Qualifications & Skills
- Basic written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Able to lift 50+ pounds
- Basic knowledge of common kitchen appliances
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Ability to work as a team member
- Coach-able and can follow directions/instructions
Education and Experience Requirements
- 2+ years experience as a line cook or prep cook is ideal
- Experience with various cooking methods and procedure
- Preferred: high school diploma or GED
