We're on the lookout for a talented and passionate prep & pastry chef to join our team at Radius Pizzeria & Pub. Prep Cook Responsibilities:
- Follow all recipes exactly to ensure product consistency.
- Taste, assess and adjust final food product based on ingredient qualities.
- Accept food deliveries, check delivery for accuracy, put away received order in appropriate locations; freezer, walk-in, dry storage, etc.
- Make all desserts for the restaurant.
- Make all sauces and dressings.
- Prep all veg for lines.
- Make pastas and prep.
- Make all appetizers.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team, making sure we have enough prepped product for each service.
- Keep a clean and organized workstation, following food safety guidelines and maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- ServSafe certification is bonus. If not certified, willing to study and pass a ServSafe certification class paid for by Radius.
- Be organized in your workflow, able to prep multiple items at a time without your products suffering.
- Label & date all containers accurately.
- Rotate stock in walk-in based on dates.
- Able to work unmonitored, working from a list of items, able to manage your time effectively to get the job done.
- Clean as you go and leave the kitchen in as-clean or a cleaner state than you found it.
- Embrace a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure and maintain a professional and polite communication with your boh & foh co-workers.
- Strong baking skills necessary.
- Comfortable with menu and specials changes, learning new techniques as necessary.
Prep Cook Requirements:
- Highly detail-oriented. You understand the necessity for consistency in taste and texture of product every time.
- Able to lift 50lbs and be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Flexible so if help is needed in another area of the kitchen and you have the skills and some time, you help out.
- Enjoy working in a high-volume kitchen.
- Follow written recipes in English, or Spanish, or write them in your preferred language based on verbal communications with either English speaking or Spanish speaking kitchen staff.
- A team player, ready to collaborate with the kitchen crew and support each other.
- Strong knife skills and can work safely and efficiently.
- Available weekday and Saturday mornings.
- Bonus points if you've got experience with different culinary styles and techniques.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English? AMAZING! Only speak one language That’s ok with us; we'll make it work.
