Seeking a compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) / Behavioral Aide to provide in-home support to a visually impaired adult. The BHT will assist with daily living tasks, safety monitoring, and behavioral prompting to help the client maintain independence in their home.
This part-time position (29 hours a week) does not require certification and is ideal for individuals with experience in caregiving, behavioral health, or supporting individuals with disabilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct in-home support to ensure client safety and well-being
Assist with daily living activities, including meal prep, light housekeeping, and routine tasks
Offer visual guidance and mobility assistance within the home and community
Provide behavioral prompting, redirection, and emotional support
Support community access and accompany the client to approved appointments/outings
Provide medication reminders (no medication administration)
Complete accurate daily documentation
Report safety concerns or changes in behavior to agency staff
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or GED preferred
Reliable transportation to the client’s home in Durham
Ability to work independently and follow care plan instructions
Must pass background checks required by North Carolina

Monday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Friday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Experience in home care, behavioral health, or supporting visually impaired individuals is preferred but not required.
