Air Duct Cleaning Technician Trainee – Full-Time – Path to Team Leader

DuctNClean is hiring a full-time Air Duct Cleaning Technician Trainee.

We're a growing local company looking to bring on the right person to train and develop into a Team Leader role. This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity with clear advancement. Full training provided - no prior experience required.

Applicants in North Raleigh or nearby areas strongly preferred due to daily route logistics.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This role supports air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and basic mold-remediation tasks. The trainee works with a lead technician and gradually learns all procedures, safety standards, equipment handling, and customer communication.

COMPENSATION AND ADVANCEMENT

Starting wage: $16 per hour

Progression as skills are mastered (typical timelines vary based on performance and reliability):

Junior Technician: $18/hr

Assistant Technician: $20/hr

Junior Lead: $22/hr

Team Leader: $24–$26/hr + Bonus (depending on performance)

Most motivated trainees are expected to progress steadily as they master each step of the work. Advancement speed depends entirely on performance, reliability, and the ability to take on additional responsibilities. The Team Leader role is intended to be developed within the first year for the right person.

Weekly pay - Performance-based bonuses may be available

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with residential air duct and dryer vent cleaning

Support mold-remediation tasks after training

Load, unload, and maintain tools and equipment

Follow job checklists and standard procedures

Document work when required

Communicate professionally with homeowners

Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance

REQUIREMENTS

Reliable transportation to the daily morning meeting point

Ability to lift 25–40 lbs and perform physical work (attics, crawlspaces, ladders)

Basic familiarity with common tools such as a drill and screwdriver

Full-time availability Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work when needed

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Ability to pass a basic background check

Applicants in North Raleigh or nearby areas are preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Field-based position with daily dispatch to customer homes in Raleigh, Wake Forest, Cary, and surrounding areas. Training takes place directly on job sites.
