Position Summary

Title: Shop Manager / Foreman

Reports to: President

Company:

We are seeking a shop manager to become an integral part of our team! You will coordinate and

oversee the company’s daily shop operations. We are a small acoustical manufacturing company

specializing in high end recording studios, furniture, and speaker monitors looking to expand our team even further.

We are looking for a self driven team member to help with taking our company to the next level.

We offer a great working environment with a climate controlled facility.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily operations and lead/motivate a group of 3 carpentry employees

Review & improve operational practices

Manage shop inventory, ordering necessary materials to meet project deadlines

Formalize policies and procedures in accordance to HR/OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

Previous experience in woodworking / carpentry

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Strong leadership qualities

Strong communication skills

Specific job duties:

To supervise (coach) direct reports working within the manufacturing areas.

Work closely with company owner in the implementation of shop wide goals and

objectives.

Participate with other key employees in production planning meetings.

Facilitate maintenance, repair, or replacement of damaged equipment in the department.

Oversee the organization of the production processes and ensure the availability of the

necessary material, equipment, and labor resources. Be receptive to sudden changes in

the production schedules.

Communicate with team members daily.

Conduct inspections to ensure production machinery/auxiliary equipment are operational

and efficient.

Ensure that production complies with established quality control specifications and

standards.

Implements and revises company standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.

Make sound decisions that will benefit the total operation.

And any other duties assigned by the owner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Dependent on skill level & experience

Benefits:

Paid time off (7 holidays)

Schedule:

8 hour shift (Mon-Fri, 7am-4pm)

Education:

High school or equivalent

Experience:

Woodworking/carpentry: 5+ years (Required)

Work Location: Durham, NC; In person
