Job Description:
Historic Restoration General Contractor seeking a skilled and creative individual to join our team as a Special Projects Fabricator/Craftsperson. This role involves a wide range of tasks, from woodworking and metalworking and problem-solving and design. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-starter with a passion for creating beautiful and functional pieces as well as a solid experience in general “handyman” type work.
Responsibilities:
Fabrication: Construct custom millwork/furniture, fixtures, and decor items using various materials, including wood, metal, and other materials as needed.
Restoration: Repair and restore historic artifacts and architectural elements.
Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges related to fabrication and design.
Design: Collaborate with the team and owner/owners reps to bring their visions to life.
Installation: Install fabricated items in various settings, including indoor and outdoor spaces.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing furniture, fixtures.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in woodworking, metalworking, and general “handyman” skills.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
A valid driver's license.
