Leverages experiences, knowledge, and financial analysis tools to generate and communicate meaningful financial insights on budgets, forecasts, actual expenses, cost allocations in the context of the enterprise’s changing business environment and various financial and cost drivers. Analyzes, communicates, and provides leadership in the context of highly complex business situations and arrangements, supporting and working directly with all management levels and functional experts across the company. Proactively and independently creates effective, efficient, and durable tools and mechanisms for the benefit of cost accounting goals and objectives. Provides leadership and knowledge-transfers to other team members by effectively handing off, cross-training, and communicating to maximize the ongoing effective use of developed tools.

Acts as a senior level subject matter expert in the financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and/or cost allocation process for the division or cost centers assigned providing counsel on allocation and cost trends to Segment Owners, Segment Controllers, and all other levels of management.

Interacts with up to senior levels of management and key stakeholders to provide relevant costing and financial analysis information on a scheduled and an ad hoc basis.

Acts with a growth mindset to improve financial processes to create and optimize highly effective and efficient financial tools.

Delivers and effectively communicates analytics, processes, and management reporting. Shares knowledge to foster business unit management relationships and gain understanding and buy-in of the cause-and-effect relationships of cost center spending and product profitability.

Provides senior/advanced level skills for the design and validation of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and/or activity-based cost modeling for either the corporation or a significant corporate division in accordance with corporate costing goals as supplied by the Cost Accounting Manager.

Provides leadership, coaching, support and problem-solving assistance, and knowledge transfer to team members.

Works with key business partners to develop business models and proposals that support the department’s goals and objectives.

Develops methodologies to analyze activity and driver data efficiently and effectively for reasonableness to achieve costing accuracy and reliability throughout the year.

Hiring Requirements

Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Economics.

5+ years of experience in financial analysis or cost accounting in a large service organization with responsibility for corporate financial, budgeting, and costing model development and maintenance or equivalent experience in business analysis or planning and reporting.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

Proven analytical skills dealing with finance related issues, including a solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, project management and internal controls.

Senior level skills and experience with financial systems (Workday financials experience is a plus).

Senior level ability to efficiently organize, leverage and extract information from large amounts of financial data.

Strong data analysis skillset.

Must have advanced working knowledge in Excel and experience building data models to create visualizations using Power BI or other such tools.

Working understanding of the health insurance industry with exposure to operating expense drivers and relationship.

Experience with audits, government contracting and CAS.
