That’s what #LifeAtCummins is all about.We are looking for a talented Mechanical Skilled Technician to join our team specializing in Tool Making for our Tooling Department in Rocky Mount, NCIn this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Complete tool making and measurements
Work with engineers, maintenance and line technicians to troubleshoot tooling problems
Follow established tool change frequency and ensure that all tool changes are completed timely/accurately
Follow machine/tool safety and safety procedures at all times
Perform tooling and equipment troubleshooting
Set-up and deliver tool assemblies to an established schedule to meet production demands
Read and understand blueprints
Perform preventative maintenance on tool assemblies
Use calipers, micrometers, height gages and other basic gages to audit tools/tooling assemblies
Knowledgeable in machine and tool safety
To be successful in this role you will need the following :
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
The preferred candidate will have experience with milling machines (manual and CNC), grinding and turning.
CNC G-code programming experience is a plus.
Also required will be a working knowledge of using various measuring tools and Blueprint reading capability.
An Associate Degree in Computer Integrated Machining or equivalent will be accepted in lieu of the required credits for completion of the apprenticeship program.
8000 hrs. of OJT will need to be earned. Any Journey Program certification will be considered in lieu of required credits and required OJT.
