Surrounded by beautiful hills, lush forests, and farmlands, Roxboro offers a relaxed lifestyle with excellent educational facilities, affordable tax rates, quality healthcare, and various recreational activities.Position SummaryCollects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.Reports to:Director of LaboratoryResponsibilities of the PositionLabels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.Maintains equipment and medical supplies.Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.Other duties as assigned.Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required.Certifications/LicensesPhlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized certification agency is required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required through American Heart Association upon hire.Required SkillsCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
