Greene County DSS is Hiring - Social Worker III Foster Care and AdoptionsThe primary purpose of this position if to provide social work services to families and children when children are in the custody of the Department of Social Services due to abuse, neglect and/or dependency. This worker will provide social work services in the areas of child protective services, custody, adoption and foster care, which involve the assessment of individual and family dynamics and needs; serving as expert witness at court hearings, crisis intervention, planning/case management, counseling and resource referral. The worker in this position is in the on-call rotation for after hours referral services. Overtime may be necessary as determined by the Supervisor and Director.Education and Experience

Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of social work and two years experience of social work or counseling experience; or a Master's Degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
