Responsible for overall coordination of IT project activity and coordination of the activities of clinical and business systems/applications analysts to support this effort. This position has system responsibilities and manages the local IT support team for Harris, Haywood and Swain hospitals.Essential Functions:

Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.Performance review includes recognition of active participation in briefs, debriefs, huddles, learning boards, and executive patient safety rounds.Job Requirements:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree preferredRequired Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Extensive knowledge of healthcare software applications and usage. Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously. Must be able to effectively communicate with end users, management, technical staff and vendors at the required level of proficiency and detail. Must be adept at problem solving, analytical assessment of information systems and logical thinking.Minimum Work Experience: Minimum of three year’s experience supervising/coordinating junior employees.
