Bid Manager

The Bid Manager works within the P&E support team, as a Bid Manager you will work with senior staff members (internally) and senior procurement officers (externally) and you will be responsible of the delivery of high-quality bid proposals on time, and in line with Honeywell standards of quality. You will be responsible for managing one or more enquiries (direct invitation to Honeywell via Sales and/or Business Development Teams) or bids open in response to open tenders. You will also be required to manage the bid process within the guidelines established by Honeywell bidding processes and procedures. Lead the sales as pursuit leader in the Mega opportunities and ensure to take up the responsibility as a key person for the win. As Bid Manager, you will work closely with the Sales team/Vertical leadership team and lead by example to undertake responsibility on all bids. To be successful you will need to be very well organized, with sound project management skills, able to work within a team and across functional organization. Responsibilities:

Take Lead Role in Design & Estimation of all Bids that gets approved in the Bid-No-Bid process and any other emergency bids

Provide Technical Inputs and Suggestions to SA’s and the Estimation Team to reduce the cost

Involve in Strategic Sourcing Exercise with Suppliers in close liaison with Supply Chain and responsible for making quick decisions and intelligent risks for all bids

Manage the bid proposal as your ultimate deliverable within time and quality

Work closely with the P&E team members to gather the required information on-time and manage the proposal output as a mini-project during the pre-sales cycle

Capture the bid/no-bid process and work across all functions to obtain the necessary approvals within the bidding time cycle

Manage relationship with potential & existing clients to be able to shorten the bid proposal time plan while maintaining quality measure set by Honeywell

Apply good understanding of project’ deployment, engineering/estimation processes and strong market’ awareness and cultural influence, to be able to guide the team members on prioritization

Work closely with sales & business development teams in understanding and assessing customer’s requirements

Facilitate the support required across different functions to the solution’ architects within the team to be able to gather the quality engineering proposals as a vital component of your bid proposal

Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision

You should be able to interact with internal/external clients and present the professional image of Honeywell

Work in close liaison with P&E, Operations and Sales team in preparing Slides for L-Review DECKS. Take Lead Role in chartering L Review Calls for all Bids

Work Closely with Honeywell Estimation Team and TAC

Team and follow up with the SA’s to obtain TRR approvals in a timely manner prior to the L Review Calls for bidding

Work closely with the Project Operations Team and obtain inputs for pricing variation opportunities on existing projects

Prepare Bid Plans for all Bids in MS Project and Monitor them closely for any lags and escalate issues to seniors

Creating highly professional technical and commercial proposals suitable for presentation to the highest levels of management

Prepare Scope of Works Matrix for all Bids and ensure this is part of the Bid Basis Document

Reviewing scope for all opportunities and proposals, and deliver on technical compliance statements

Work closely with sales & business development teams in understanding and assessing customer’s requirements

Closely coordinate with District PML’s, Project Managers, when requested, in the calculation of costs and sell prices for project Change Orders

Lead the review process with the district ( L1), regional ( L2) and SBU ( L3)

Fully engage with Operations and Delivery, Sales and other functions within your region. Act as focal point for P&E within the region structure

MUST HAVE:

Strong Project & Bid management skills

Very well organized

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Possess reasonable technical knowledge over all applications in HVAC, Fire, Security and Networked advanced solutions (e.g. DVM, sizing, architecture, configurations, etc.)

Excellent PC skills including strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS PROJECT and MS Outlook Knowledge

This position requires the ability to understand customer requirements/restraints and offer a cost-effective solution to the service needs

A working knowledge of existing hardware installations and upgrade requirements to current technology

WE VALUE:

Documentation tools expertise (submittals, drawings, etc)

Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus

Working knowledge of electronics, HVAC, fire, security products and networking (overall ELV)

Design engineering experience (hardware and software) a plus

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent

Be knowledgeable for new products and applications as they are introduced

Be proficient with Standard Hardware Drawing tool set for submittals. Re-use is the focus here
