Multi-Family EWP Designer/Estimator

As a Multi-Family Designer/Estimator at Weyerhaeuser you will create framing layouts incorporating Weyerhaeuser Engineered Wood Products for a variety of wood structures across the United States. The Multi-Family Designer/Estimator is a member of our National Specification Team that is aligned within our dynamic marketing and sales organization. You will rely on your expertise and Weyerhaeuser’s proprietary software (Javelin™, Estima™, WebForte®) to find efficient, effective solutions for dealers, engineers, architects and builders. You will work in close alignment with both our engineers and sales team. This role is a fully remote work-from-home position, provided you are currently based (or are planning to move to) one of the following states:Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona or Utah, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. This role is not open to those who live in other states or countries. Background:Design associates efficiently provide accurate, value-added layout drawings, material lists, and design services to end users of Weyerhaeuser products. The primary role for this position is multi-family design and drafting with a secondary emphasis on customer and market interaction. Key Functions:

Working with Sales Associates to convert construction drawings into framing plans with complete material lists

Ensuring that our solutions are compatible with architectural and structural requirements by verifying product application assurance

Provide design calculations for single structural members

Provide design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects and engineers.

2-year technical degree OR equivalent construction industry experience

Ability to read and comprehend structural pages within multi-family construction documents

Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications

Capable of managing multiple priorities with fixed deadlines

Microsoft Office suite knowledge – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Desired Qualifications:

Statics, Mechanics, and Materials background

Previous Designer or Estimator experience

Wood framing construction background

Load Tracking

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $66,000 - $100,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
