Job Family: EngineeringReq ID: 432422Company: Siemens Industry, Inc.Location: 7000 Siemens Drive, Wendell, North Carolina 27591Position Title: Manager – Mechanical Design EngineeringHours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ WeekSummary of Duties: Take ownership of the overall engineering experience for LV mechanical design (DTO). This will include leadership and technical support during the quotation, design approval, detailed engineering and post-project lessons learned phases. Manage the day-to-day needs of the team, including the training and coaching of new team members, schedule management, escalation resolution, and coordination with factory/field stakeholders. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing by leading improvements to our DTO Library, including making sure there are no defects that could cause problems with the functionality of the equipment, safety of the user, or rework in the factory during assembly. Ensure the use of best design practices (i.e. part numbering, use of typical assemblies, etc.) by the mechanical designers. Conduct mechanical Quality Checks, and lead initiatives for continuous quality improvement to increase First Pass Yield (FPY). Act as a technical leader with a strong focus on employee skills development. Support Siemens products such as: Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, Low Voltage MCC units.Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, as a Quality Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Designer or an acceptable alternate occupation.
