Assistant Store Manager (Hands-On) — Island Bicycles (Southport, NC)
Island Bicycles is a trusted local bike shop serving Southport, Oak Island, and our coastal community. We sell bikes, e-bikes, gear, and do trusted repairs — all with friendly, honest service.
We’re hiring a working Assistant Store Manager who isn’t afraid to get hands-on. You’ll help with sales, customer service, daily operations, and work on bikes. This role can grow into a full Store Manager position for the right person.
Please Note:
This is a working position — retail experience is required, and basic bike knowledge is strongly preferred. Only candidates who meet these requirements will be considered
Job Duties:
Greet customers and provide excellent service
Help match riders to the right bikes and accessories
Perform bike repairs and maintenance
Manage repair check-ins and estimates
Help with opening/closing, cash handling, and inventory
Support and train staff as needed
Be ready to jump in wherever needed
Requirements:
Retail experience required; bike/mechanical experience preferred
Comfortable working on bikes (or eager to learn)
Good leadership and problem-solving skills
Friendly, reliable, and able to lift bikes and gear
Flexible schedule including weekends
Want to grow into Store Manager role
