We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.As a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Connected Commerce team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

Develops applications leveraging modern technologies including cloud backed APIs, microservices in both our private and public cloud platforms.

Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.

Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience

Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

Advanced in one or more programming language(s)

Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods

Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread safe code

Expert level experience designing and building REST web services using Java @ internet scale.

Expertise in various technology delivery concepts including Domain Driven Design, API oriented development, microservice and event-based architectures, and automation are key

Experience with building messaging, event-driven architectures

Experience working with no-SQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra and Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices.

Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience in AWS

Prior financial industry experience

Experience with high volume, mission critical applications

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Experience with IBM MQ, Apache Kafka
