This position will be located in Winston-Salem/Greensboro, NC.Responsibilities & Qualifications :

Possess and apply knowledge of Product Engineering principles, practices and procedures, including understanding of manufacturing technologies such as stamping, plating, molding, assembly and machine application to manage product line ownership. This position will require a deep knowledge of LSR molding and complex headers.

Support VA/VE, COPQ and sustainability efforts by collaborating with cross functional teams for cost savings, scrap reductions, manufacturing (OEE) improvements, capacity/transfer projects globally and PCF value reductions. This will include coordination of product sample preparation, creation of test plans, and support in reviewing test data, inspection reports, and failure analysis as needed.

Provide on-going technical support, including review of changes, resolution of quality problems related to design and redesign projects to address issues of cost, quality or manufacturability. Experience with 8-D’s and other root cause analysis tools.

Experience and/or working knowledge of AIAG PPAP requirements, USCAR and other automotive industry standards.

Collaborate with Development Engineering on new product designs to ensure continuity and smooth transition into full production. Participate in launch team activities as needed.

Provide technical support to TE customers, TE Customer Front End Engineers and TE Sales Engineers to ensure proper application of products in the field.

What your background should look like:Required Qualifications:

4 year Mechanical engineering degree required. Masters in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Strong knowledge of automotive terminal and connector products, materials and processes, OEM and Tier 1 applications, and other automotive requirements.

Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral & written). Must be able to communicate confidently and effectively in front of the Customer.

Flexibility. Ability to deal with multiple priorities, multi-tasking and establish priorities based on workload requirements and internal/external customer expectations.

Ability to work well within a cross-functional team environment including all engineering groups, project management, operations and quality functions of TE internal departments as well as major automotive customers and vendors.

Strong organizational and problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Self-starter and enthusiastic.

CAD experience, Preferred Proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric (formerly Pro/Engineer).

Some travel required (5-10%) to production facilities in MX and global customers as needed. Local campus support and lab travel expected.

Desired Qualifications:

7-10 years automotive experience. Direct Tier 1 and/or OEM experience a plus.

Knowledge of automotive high voltage products.

Knowledgeable in Six Sigma and LEAN production techniques.
