As part of our activities in Bad Salzuflen Germany, Syngenta is looking for a:Research Associate Hybrid Barley (f/m/d)Role purpose: The Barley Research Associate assists and supports the Barley Pipeline Scientist in all aspects of breeding pipeline progression – in the execution, implementation and management of breeding projects in the field and in the greenhouse, such as (pre-)selections and crossbreeding trials.Responsibilities/main tasks:Breeding program management: responsible for the technical organization of sowing, TOPS trials creation, breeding field management, coordination of the harvest and sowing preparation.Management of Purity MATS files and selection- A, B & R (PLP-2, PLP-1, PLP).Managing MATS before GS- Pre selections.Undertaking F1s & F2s checks, ensuring DH quality control.Lists delivery and communication with DEBS operations, greenhousesMaterial identity coding, material creation.Hybrid production plan & seeds orders (Proseeds)Undertake DEBS field pre-selections, record scores.Data and breeding material management: Recording and input of breeding data, further development of breeding plant material from stage to stage including material management in planning, breeding and material tracking toolsPeople management: Instruction and breeding support of the operational team as well as content training of the technical-operational as well as seasonal staffFinance/Budget: Works within the budget-driven framework for breeding program and operations.
