Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstThe Principal Enterprise Architect leads the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level application and solution architectures to leverage infrastructure and platforms related to cloud computing. The Principal Enterprise Architect provides strategic advice and guidance to application team across the various business segments within the standards of Humana's Enterprise Architecture Framework and must be highly-skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.
Work with various stakeholders to build an enterprise alignment around technology strategy, standards, roadmaps, and terminology
Facilitate the creation of clear, concise and easy to access technology standards to provide engineering teams with tactical direction for achieving the enterprise tech strategy.
Clearly communicate and evangelize the value associated with adhering to the tech strategy and corresponding standards.
Create visibility and build awareness of the gap between current state architecture versus future state architecture and advocate for gaps to be filled.
Consults and guides application development teams throughout the entire project lifecycle from conceptual solution design through implementation.
Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud computing environments.
Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings.
Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.
Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies.
Advises one or more areas, programs or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise.
Champion architectural governance processes & Enterprise Architecture intake.
Lead efforts to identify and evaluate emerging and disruptive technologies that will evolve the enterprise's technology landscape.
Provide thought leadership identifying industry technology trends and drive towards integrating those trends to execute the business strategies effectively and efficiently.
Align IT architecture technology strategy and frameworks to enable the company's business strategy and goals, by providing guidance and building consensus across stakeholders.
Provide leadership in developing the enterprise's technical and architectural staff.

10+ years total of progressive IT systems delivery experience
4+ years of application development experience
4+ years of application architecture / leadership experience
8+ years of large program delivery experience
Proven track record with a minimum of 4 large scale application modernization / technology transformation program deliveries inclusive of on-prem, public cloud, private cloud and/or Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions
Technical experience must include use of NoSQL databases, microservices, service mesh, data modeling, data architecture (document, relational and graph), API Management Platforms, high availability/resilience design
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of total progressive IT systems delivery experience
Master's or Doctorate's degree, and 10+ years of technical experience, or equivalent, and 2-5 years of project/people leadership
