Our Public Sector Group (PSG) is growing, and we are looking for a talented, highly motivated Senior Data Scientist to join ICF’s Digital Modernization Division. ICF is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Scientist to support digital solutions for various Federal clients, including the Federal Drug Administration. The Senior Data Scientist will support our projects by collaborating and working with a cross-functional team to deliver quality, innovative, and highly scalable applications to end clients. Strong grasp of statistics, programming, and modeling techniques (machine learning, computer vision, classification, cluster analysis, data mining, databases, and visualization)
Strong experience with SQL, Python and/or R and common data science packages (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, ggplot, plyr, etc.)
Dataset parsing, dataset merging, dataset analysis, dataset synthesis and machine learning API services
Familiarity with controlled vocabularies (e.g., UMLS, SNOMED, etc.)
Strong knowledge of databases (relational, OLAP, and NoSQL)
Experience with the following technologies is also highly desirable: Jupyter, Spark, Apache Superset or other BI software, AWS cloud computing
Experience in the healthcare domain, or with quality data sets is highly desirable
Strong technical communication skills; both written and verbal
Strong problem solving and structuring skills with ability to understand and articulate the “big picture” and simplify complex ideas to client stakeholders
Ability to identify and learn applicable new techniques independently as needed
Develop long-term partnerships with customers and vendors and contribute to the development of their strategic business plans by understanding the future direction of their organization, the industry, and the customer's business.
Drive solutioning sessions to flush out data solutions, level of effort estimates and solution development approaches
Drive technical content for request for proposal responses, including writing proposals, developing proof of concepts, and presenting technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior and C-Suite executives.
Develop working relationships with staff to facilitate the adoption of best practices, including standards, methodology and metrics in preparing architecture deliverables and be comfortable creating rapidly delivered prototypes that speed client approvals.
Work closely with the stakeholder groups to translate business use cases to specific solution architecture design, including assisting with planning the implementation timelines and then looping back to address subsequent questions and confirming implementation guidelines are followed.
Assess customers’ current state architecture, provide recommendations on future state architecture and implementation roadmap.
Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and market offerings relevant to our clients’ objectives.
Requirements:Master’s degree with quantitative focus in Econometrics, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in Econometrics, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and reside in the United States for four of the past five years
