INCLUDING YOURS.As theStaff Accountant, you will work with the Finance Director to coordinate accounting functions such has accounts payable, general ledger/account maintenance, account reconciliation, data processing and reporting for the YMCA and Family Wellness in Bismarck-Mandan.Tim Olson, YMCA Operations Director said, "I love my job because every day we make an impactin people's lives and help strengthen our community. Reconciling Accounts Payable to the General Ledger.

Processing invoices for payment. Auditing check requests and purchase orders for accuracy and making corrections as needed.

Working with vendors and staff to resolve invoice discrepancies. Reviewing vendor statements for past due invoices and working with vendors and vendors to keep accounts current.

Entering vendor and expense distribution data into the Accounting Software system.

Voiding checks and crediting appropriate accounts, including program credits and refunds.

Setting up, training and assisting employees with purchase cards and expense reports. Maintaining the purchase card program including ordering and cancelling cards, monitoring limits and ensuring proper documentation and authorization of purchases.

Maintaining the W-9 information or all vendors and assisting with preparing the annual 1099 for IRS.

Receiving, reviewing and processing childcare Third Party Subsidy payments by verifying payment information against department records to ensure accuracy and data security in all transactions.

Monitoring the checking account on a daily basis to include fraud filters, processing and approving ACH transactions and ensuring that the account maintains a minimum balance. Maintaining spreadsheet with cash balance to include all deposits and disbursements and reconcile between our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and our bank account.

Maintaining fixed asset database and reconciling fixed assets to the General Ledger.

Assisting the Finance Director with preparing financial statements and budgets.

  • This position performs financial accounting duties in support of the city\'s financial operations. Performs day-to-day accounting functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Government Account Standards Board (GASB) guidelines, and federal, state and local requirements. May prepare and submit 1099s. May provide support for the allocation of special assessments; ensures compliance with the North Dakota Century Code, city ordinances and policies; gathers data from other departments to determine special assessments. May assist in reconciling highway construction, special assessment bond funds, and construction funds to verify cash flow and identify deficiencies; assists in computing developers\' CDs and requirements. Analyzes, computes, and prepares forecasts based on financial statements, cost reports, cash balances and other financial data; allocates bond costs to special assessment districts and reconciles revenue bond debt covenants. May assist with grant compliance, closeout, and reconciliations on a portfolio of assigned grants. Manages and reconciles city bank accounts; reconciles cash receipts, credit card activity, investments, and interfund receivables and payables. Prepares year-end statements for assigned accounts. Assists in the implementation of new financial management software programs. Audits credit card transactions. Provides backup to Account Technicians, Grants Coordinator, and other Accountants, as needed. Assists in interpreting and communicating technical information to developers, property owners, and department staff. Coordinates transactions with Accountants, Accounting Technicians and various department staff. . Prepares budget adjustments and journal entry corrections. Performs related duties.
