Ignition Developer

As an Ignition Developer you will manage and support projects focused on developing and improving MES applications and hardware across our Fiberon brand facilities. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve daily MES issues, design and implement solutions, and maintain existing systems to support our continuous improvement culture.Leveraging your technical understanding of computer programming and application development, you’ll work on integrating MES with other data systems to enhance decision-making, develop reports, and partner with engineers on data acquisition. With strong written and oral communication skills, you’ll effectively engage stakeholders, adhere to project timelines, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you’ll review and optimize software code, deploy new systems, and provide technical assistance to ensure smooth operations.The ideal candidate has an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering, OR 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in software development focused on front-end application design for manufacturing execution systems. You will be proficient in Ignition, Python, Microsoft SQL databases, HTML, Java, and Expression languages.This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule, reporting into the plant in Brookings, SD Tuesday-Thursday with the option to work remote on Monday & Friday.What you will be doing:Manage the day-to-day related MES issues and delegate to other team members, as necessaryUtilize Ignition software for front end application design and development for MESDefine, design, and lead software implementations throughout the manufacturing operationsSupport, troubleshoot, and maintain current applications and hardwareIntegrate solutions with ERP data to drive faster and easier decisionsDevelop reports based on MES and operational dataDevelop data acquisition systems by working closely with controls engineersMaintains, analyzes, and participates in modifications to existing systemsAnalyze existing software code to make more efficientParticipates in development and testing of new systems and programsParticipate in deploying integrated MES solutions in the Fiberon facilitiesDevelop and execute end-user test plans as neededSupport project teams to help drive continuous improvementSupport corporate goals and objectives24/7 technical support to ensure appropriate response and resolution to manufacturing issues are met
