John T. Jones Construction Co. is an established and growing Fargo, ND based Municipal/Industrial General Contractor specializing in Water & Wastewater Facility Construction. This primarily includes Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Facilities, and Lift/Pump Stations. Since 1953 our team of Laborers, Skilled Craftsmen, Superintendents & Office Staff have helped bring clean water to communities throughout the upper Mid West. We are looking for an experienced & driven individual to join our team.The ideal candidate should have:2+ years experience in a Construction Management role, preferably Heavy Civil, Industrial or Water/Wastewater
Stable and proven employment history
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The ability to manage both Project Management & Estimating responsibilities
Solid computer skills including estimating & scheduling programs
A willingness to travel on occasion
2+ years of higher education
Responsibilities include:· Oversees and directs construction projects from conception to completion· Reviews specifications & construction drawings to determine equipment, material, & staffing requirements for each phase of construction· Confers and coordinates with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to plan and execute work procedures to prevent delays and ensure compliance to specifications & drawings.· Reviews the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs· Selects & orders tools, materials and equipment to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules; tracks inventory· Meets contractual conditions of performance; identifies change order work· Reviews work progress on a daily basis· Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status· Plans ahead to prevent problems and resolves any emerging ones· General personnel management· Negotiates terms of agreements, drafts contracts and obtains permits and licenses· Liaises with project owner & engineer to maintain a good working relationship· Develops construction techniques to reduce costs & improve quality· Analyzes, manages, and mitigates risk· Ensures quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques; makes use of surveying equipment· Creates & manages project schedules· Ensures jobsite safety & compliance to JTJ safety policy· Estimates construction projects & assists in putting together bidsWe Offer:A robust benefits package
