Build, repair and maintain paver stone patios, walk ways, driveways and retaining walls to customer specifications as designed by Opp Construction designers and estimators.

General Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Know and comply with the company's safety rules, policies and OSHA regulations including injury/incident/near miss reporting procedures. Bring problems to attention of Foreman, Supervisor, Superintendent, Safety Director, or Human Resource Manager.
2. Relate to the public and to customers, engineers, architects and other visitors in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints, requests or comments.
3. Discuss the design with the client if necessary, notify foreman immediately of any changes requested.
4. Prepare base for installation by removing unstable or unsuitable materials, compacting and grading the soil, draining or stabilizing weak or saturated soils and taking measures to prevent water penetration and migration of bedding sand.
5. Place base materials, edge restraints, bedding sand and jointing sand.
6. Set pavers, aligning and spacing them correctly.
7. Sweep sand into the joints and compact pavement until the joints are full.
8. Screed sand level to an even thickness, and recheck sand exposed to elements, raking and rescreeding if necessary.
9. Cut paving stones to size and for edges, using a splitter and a masonry saw.
10. Compact bedding sand and pavers to finish the paved area, using a plate compactor.
11. Sweep sand from the surface prior to opening to traffic.
12. Maintain a clean, neat and hazard free worksite that will please the customer.
13. Retaining wall construction must meet or exceed manufacturer's specifications.
14. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
