We currently have a refrigeration position available at our manufacturing facility in Grand Forks Plant - Grand Forks, ND. Grand Forks is a small community built on education, sports, family, agriculture, and the outdoors.

SUMMARY

This position is to maintain and operate all equipment, including air compressors, HVAC equipment, and the ammonia refrigeration system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position.

• Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.

• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculate percentages to make proper adjustments and calibrations, as required.

• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English in a manner to successfully complete job duties.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (heavy valves, motors, etc.)

• Must be able to demonstrate manual and physical dexterity.

• Must be able to work with hazardous and corrosive chemicals in small areas.

• Must be able to tell time and be able to convert regular time to military time.

• Must be able to use a computer and successfully navigate through various applications. Must be proficient at computer system data entry.

• Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis.

• Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.

• Must be able to work in extreme environments (cold, hot, humid and slippery).

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to identify hazards and report to appropriate personnel.

• Must have an acceptable attendance record.

• Must have an acceptable safety record.

• Must be able to work in stressful situations.

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

• Must have a basic knowledge and understanding of HVAC equipment and be able to change filters, belts, and do other minor repairs.

• Must have a basic knowledge of a refrigeration cycle.

• Must be able to function productively in a team setting.

• Must have a practical mechanical background and manual dexterity in both hands.

• Must be able to read and interpret written instructions, manufacturers' manuals, material safety data sheets, and engineering drawings.

• Must be able to work in moderate to high noise level.

• Must possess or obtain in first week of job a Simplot forklift license.

• Must become certified in the use of an ammonia gas mask. Required to wear hairnet, eye and ear protection, hardhat, full-face respirator, and other protective clothing as necessary.

• Must be able to function productively in a team setting

• Has completed Refrigeration Operator SJT forms.

o Must complete Refrigeration Operator SJT

 Phase 1 within 45 days of hire date

 Phase 2 within 6 Months of hire date

 Phase 3 within 1 Year 6 Months of hire date

• Job Description Addition - CARO Refrigeration Operator

oWithin 2 years of hire date complete CARO Refrigeration Operator SJT which includes (based on past and present work experience) testing, passing, and maintaining RETA "CARO" certification.

• Job Description Addition - CIRO Refrigeration Operator

o Complete CIRO Refrigeration Operator SJT which includes (based on past and present work experience) testing, passing, and maintaining RETA "CIRO" certification.

o Must have exemplary attendance record, team work, and attitude.

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must be available to work any shift (7am-7 pm or 7pm-7am).

• Pre-employment drug testing and background checks are required.

• Must have good communication, math and computer skills.

• Physical activities include walking, bending, stair and ladder climbing, and lifting up to 40 lbs. on a daily basis.

SHIFT SCHEDULE

• 12 hour shifts. Employees will work a 2-week rotation, working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (4 shifts) on Week 1 and Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (3 shifts) on Week 2.

• Employees will be assigned to either 7AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM shifts.

• The monthly schedule does not include rotating from nights to days.

• Employees enjoy having a 3-day weekend every other week.

• Employees will receive 8 hours of time and half overtime on their 48 hour week schedule.
