[Spherion Staffing has an opportunity for a Environmental Health and Safety Specialist II in Gwinner, ND. As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist II, you will be responsible for managing and implementing the company's environmental health and safety (EHS) programs. This role provides guidance on EHS matters, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide training and mentorship to junior staff, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.[Salary $73-81k/year DOE[Responsibilities:
-Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
-Conduct thorough risk assessments, including ergonomic evaluations, exposure assessments, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies
-Provide guidance and advice to management and employees on EHS matters, including hazard communication, industrial hygiene, waste management, and emergency response
-Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to drive EHS initiatives, develop action plans, and monitor progress towards achieving EHS goals
-Establish and deliver effective EHS training programs to increase awareness, knowledge, and compliance among employees
-Develop and implement metrics and systems to monitor EHS performance, track trends, and identify areas for improvement
-Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations, permits, and licenses, and maintain accurate records and documentation
-Stay abreast of emerging EHS regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements, and recommend appropriate strategies and solutions to enhance EHS performance
-Foster a culture of safety by promoting proactive safety behaviors, conducting safety audits, and recognizing and rewarding safe practices
-Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior EHS staff, fostering their professional development and growth
