Part-time Universal Assistant at the Assisted Living portion of SMP Health - Ave Maria.Essential Functions:
1. This position is responsible for setting up and helping with meals/snacks, seating and serving tenants and cleaning up after meal service.
2. Assists CMAs with doing comfort checks on the tenants, making sure all needs are met.
3. The Universal Assistant is responsible to clean and maintain any and all dining room and kitchen items and areas. This includes sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing, and scrubbing, as appropriate, and collecting and disposing of waste. The Universal Assistant cleans and maintains all equipment to ensure they are in good working order, and notifies indicated person to repair equipment, as necessary.
4. This position assists in transporting tenants (in wheelchairs) to and from SMP Health - Ave Maria. This position also assists in all other areas as needed, i.e., activities, housekeeping, etc.
5. Performs safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment. This includes understanding and following procedures relating to wandering tenants, fire, severe weather, universal precautions, and safe operation of all equipment used. The Universal Assistant utilizes proper body mechanics and performs the proper hand washing technique at all times.
