Job Summary
Perform work related to gas/oil/produced water liquids pipeline system operations
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform pipeline operations and maintenance activities on pipeline systems including compressor stations, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment which may include, but is not limited to:
- Startup and shutdown
- Pigging
- Collecting liquids
- Gauging tanks
- Locating and marking lines
- Monitoring cathodic protection/basic pipe coatings
- Leakage survey/patrolling pipelines
- Changing Filters and Filter socks
- Monitor usage and/or replace lubricants, fluids, inhibitors, chemicals, etc., as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Exchange information regarding pipeline operations, maintenance, measurement, and other activities with employees
- Calculate, compile, and/or prepare information and reports including but not limited to:
- Gas/liquid flow and quality
- Maintenance and/or repair logs
- Samples (gas/liquids)
- Pipeline/corrosion activities
- PHMSA (DOT) reports / tasks
- Construction inspection
- Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles
- Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job
- Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Experience operating and maintaining pipeline systems and related equipment utilized in pipeline gathering systems
- Experience in various field functions including measurement, cathodic protection, and compressor/pump station operations
- Experience maintenance and repair of equipment
Experience and training related to:
- Company and governmental operating/safety procedures and environmental regulations
- Pigging pipelines, gauging tanks, and collecting liquids
- Construction methods
- Ability to establish priorities and complete work assignments with limited supervision
- Experience in patrolling pipelines, performing leakage surveys, and locating/marking lines
- Experience in working with valves, pig launchers/receivers, fuel scrubbers, air compressors etc..
- Knowledge of cathodic protection/corrosion control activities
- Application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Application of formulas to estimate or calculate flow rates and volumes
- Ability to use tools and equipment including computers and related software
- Experience reading and interpreting maps, drawings, plats, atlas pages, manuals, policies, procedures, dials, and gauges
- Ability to prepare and maintain logs and records
- Experience interacting and communicating effectively
- Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English
- Communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions
Certification and Licensing
- Applicable driver's license for travel to other locations
- Applicable certifications as required by position
Physical Requirements
- Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 3-5 times a day; up to 30 pounds 3-5 times a day; push or pull objects requiring over 50 pounds exertion 10-15 times a day
- Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to mud, gravel, sand, rocks, ice, snow
- Walk, stand, and kneel/stoop for extended periods
- Climb and maintain balance on elevated working surfaces
- Ability to be on call 24/7 on rotating basis
- React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
- Able to operate tools and equipment as required
- Ability to handle various chemicals

- Peripheral vision and accurate depth perception
- Sufficient to perform job duties
