Kit Pack Supervisor

The Kit Pack Team at TKM kit packs, assembles, fulfills, packs, and ships products. We have extensive kit pack and assembly capabilities.

The Kit Pack Supervisor assists the Kit Pack Manager in managing the team and achieving production requirements.

The Kit Pack Supervisor will assist the Kit Pack Manager manage Kit Pack production, including:

Take accountability for work produced by the Kit Pack Team

Orchestrate Kit Pack Team resources to accomplish priorities established by Operations Manager or Scheduler

Maximize Kit Pack Team throughput of quality work completed on time

Take accountability for providing needed quantity of quality parts to next part of production process

Accountable for quality of all work produced by Kit Pack Team. When things go wrong, analyze why, identify causes, implement solutions.

Analyze and measure production throughput as needed

Maximize production efficiencies consistent with production priorities established by Operations Manager or Scheduler

Help to solve production issues

When appropriate or necessary, help to accomplish production

The Kit Pack Supervisor will also assist the Kit Pack Manager in providing front-line HR management functions for Kit Pack Team, including:

Make team members feel “known” and “not anonymous”

Help team members understand who their work matters to and why particular jobs or priorities are important

Score performance using objective methods of measurement (“everybody has a number”) so that team members understand their success depends on performance and not politics

Keep finger on pulse of morale and how people are doing

Help people solve problems

Detect and listen to people who are experiencing frustration and problems. Resolve concerns or escalate to HR or management as needed.

Enforce workplace standards for workers in department (including temps)

The Kit Pack Supervisor will also assist the Kit Pack Manager in building and maintaining the capacity of the Kit Pack Team, including:

Take accountability for care and maintenance of equipment used primarily by Kit Pack Team

Ensure adequate inventory levels of production consumables (not responsible to place purchase orders)

Take accountability for cleanliness, organization, and safety of Kit Pack Team workspaces

Implement, monitor, and improve production processes and systems as needed

Train staff

Identify need for additional staff

The best candidates will have previous experience taking accountability for a shift, department, or team and supervising other people. We’re especially interested in candidates who started as a worker and were promoted to a supervisory or management experience based on their demonstrated gifts, abilities, and work history.

Candidates do not need previous experience in kit pack or printing. Potential crossover experience includes team leads, supervisors, and managers from fast food or other restaurant environments.
