Job Summary: The Commercial Roofing Foreman oversees and coordinates roofing projects, ensuring the timely completion of high-quality work while maintaining a safe work environment. They lead a team of roofing technicians, providing guidance, instruction, and supervision throughout all project phases. The Commercial Roofing Foreman is responsible for project planning, resource allocation, material management, and adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and lead roofing crews in the installation, repair, or replacement of roofing systems.
2. Coordinate project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and material procurement.
3. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety
awareness among team members.
4. Conduct job site inspections to assess work progress, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
5. Provide on-the-job training and guidance to roofing technicians, promoting skill development and teamwork.
6. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to address project
requirements, concerns, and changes.
7. Monitor and enforce quality control measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality workmanship.
8. Maintain accurate project records, including daily work logs, material usage, and equipment maintenance.
9. Troubleshoot issues and resolve conflicts that arise during project execution, fostering a positive work environment.
10. Assist in estimating project costs, preparing project proposals, and evaluating project feasibility.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in roofing installation, repair, or replacement.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
Strong knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safety practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans.
Proficiency in basic math and measurement calculations.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
OSHA certification or willingness to obtain certification.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in roofing is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights.
Stamina to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Agility to navigate rooftops and uneven terrain safely.
